Auburn – 18, Alabama – 17 On November 22, 1997 the Alabama Crimson Tide travels to Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama for an SEC matchup with the Auburn Tigers. Neither offense can find much rhythm in the first half but Alabama is able to enter halftime with a 10-6 lead. Bama is able to extend the lead in the third quarter to 17-6. The Tigers fight and claw their way back and with 21 seconds left Auburn takes the lead on a field goal. The Crimson Tide move in position for a 57 yard attempt but it falls short and Auburn grabs a 18-17 victory.
